Boys and girls, this is it. “Spring Cleaning” – the biggest giveaway in history of giveaways made by independent websites. Today we’re giving away more than a 1000 games, plus some cool discount coupons.
I would like to thank all Indie Developers that shared their game keys with us and made this giveaway possible, and would also like to thank Tim Verhoeven, Tibor Török and Chris Holt for helping us get even more keys.

My favourite RPG is probably Final Fantasy VII. It was one of the first RPGs I’ve ever played an fell in love with it. But it’s hard to chose, there are so many great RPGs out there… Like Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy VI, Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos and so on.

My favorite RPG is Monster Hunter, however it’s more based on realtime action, it has the best RPG mechanics. You need to kill bigger and harder monsters every time creating more and more expensive and better armor, but it’s not only your character that grows, but you also get skilled. So it also implements a factor that I think RPG’s really need, no useless grinding, but also an ‘evolving’ player.

My favourite RPG is the Baldur’s Gate Saga. Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn was my first rpg and I literally felt in love with it. Great PNGs, great background, great villains… it was like I was just starting a never-ending journey in another dimension! Then I bought Baldur’s Gate, the first one, to know and follow the origins of the Bhaalspawn. A little bit raw (compared to BG2) but I lost myself exploring all the maps and locations (and I’m waiting for this summer to instantly take the EE!). Finally, Throne Of Bhaal sealed my total addiction to this saga, letting me explore all of the other Bioware/Blak Isle games… and yes, even Planescape: Torment, which is great, but you can’t forget your first love. Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn!

My favorite RPG is “Eyes of the Beholder 2″ on PC. The game developers significantly expended the size of the environment or world the game takes places (The adventure takes places not only in the dungeons, but also in the forest and so so.) compared to the previous version, and the graphic was amazing. And the storyline was great, too.

Well, my favorite RPG game is Parasite Eve. I played the game when I was young. This is a fantastic game with a very good story (I’ve read the original story after finishing the game, but I still love the game better).
The gameplay is short when you only want to know a story, but each of my friend has spent a lot of time collecting items and upgrades to beat the Chrysler Building.
BGM’s awesome, best ever.All RPG players should try this awesome game.

My favourite RPGs… well two of them are in my top 5 of all time regardless of genre, Baldur’s Gate 2 and Planescape: Torment, in that order. PS:T’s story is unmatched by any other video game, but BG2 is a more ‘complete’ RPG experience. System Shock 2 is amazing as well and is probably in my top 10. That game scared me silly despite me having the guide at my fingertips.

The best RPGs are never straight RPGs, because straight RPGs get boring… River City Ransom had RPG elements, but was an action game at heart – and it is the greatest game of all time.
I enjoyed Baldur’s Gate when it came out, back then it was such an impactful title. It’s like an epoch, all games in the RPG genre since have been compared to it.
Of the straight up RPGs I’ve played, I’d say I can honestly say I enjoyed Freedom Force the most, because of it’s cheesy sense of humour and the ability to really make exactly what hero you want.

AVERNUM TRILOGY
Well, I love most Planescape: Torment for its story that is far better than any other game I played, book I read or film I watched. And its graphics let my imagination build the world. Another fav goes to Baldur’s Gate – story and gameplay were awesomely balanced, especially I liked the plot in BG1. Not to mention great graphics and music. Now I am playing Avernum: Escape from the Pit and I must admit that it made me wanna play all Spiderweb titles possible, so I can review all of them. In fact, I received Escape from the Pit for a review and it made me stop writing my MA thesis, seriously, I was to defend it at the end of June, now the date is September. First Gothic for its heavy prison atmosphere. Oh, and last but not least, Deus Ex because it is just DX xD

Avernum Trilogy x 5 – Diablo III, Final Fantasy, SRO
Aiming for the Avernum three-pack: honestly it’s the old-school nature of the games that makes me want a shot at those. I’ve been replaying the old Might and Magic games lately (in the middle of the 4+5 combo now) and I just can’t think of another RPG that feels so much like a D&D session with the clues left out for you to find and most of the puzzles relying on you to figure out the world for yourself. No questgivers (for the most part), just people needing problems to solve, a world to explore, puzzling out what’s going to happen if you drink from that fountain, etc. Cool feeling I don’t see anymore.

I don’t like typical RPG. It’s Role-Playing, not “kill-n-level up”. So, my favorite is UnEpic! It’s really great! All this humor and gameplay, you actually never got tired of playing because there’s always something interesting around! =)

Sorry for my english I am from russia and drink lots of vodka with my bear. My favourite rpg game is fallout 2. I started my gaming experience with it. Later I tryed third part and new vegas but second fallout is still the best rpg game for me coz it shows us that there is no only one way to complete some quests. In fallout 2 was real freedom. It didn’t need cool graphics or top computer to show that developers could make game with love.

My favorite RPG games? Well… forst one is definitely Arcanum. Because playing as engineer is increadible fun!
Discovering more and more machines is pretty addictive.
Another one is Vampire the Masquerede: Bloodlines. It’s like Deus Ex but vampires instead cyberpunk, humour instead conspiracy theories and naughty girs instead of serious man, laugh only once in entire game.
Third one is Arx Fatalis – lot of exploration and treasure hunt in undergrounds. Great modern dungeon crawl. And magic where mouse cursor draw runes. Brilliant!
At last but not least – Deus Ex. I shouldn’t mention this title because many people start reinstall this game. Righ now.
Finallly – Fallout: New Vegas. It’s like Fallout 1 and 2 in 3D and ton of mods.

I know it’s kinda cliche to say your favorite RPG is an Elder Scrolls game, but I can’t help it, I just love love love Daggerfall. It’s such an iconic and groundbreaking game and set up the whole elder scrolls series.

For Avernum.
It goes kinda like this, my favorite RPG’s are Planescape Torment and Baldur’s Gate 2. I love them both but in different, erotic, ways. Of the two however, or all RPG’s for that matter, i think Planescape is better, albeit not necessarily the better RPG, it is by far one of the best games ever made, regardless of platform. Though it lacks the feeling of an enormous world that characterizes oh so well BG 2, and from what I’m hearing, Avernum. Then we have the Realms of Arkania series, or Wizardry, or Ultima 7 and so an and so forth. Fallout is not really among my favorites, but i have no idea why, since i only have appreciation for it, guess it’s just not “there” for me.
Now, seeing how everybody mixed them around here, i will also say that my favorite action RPG’s are Gothic and Gothic 2, the second is the better game but the first has that indescribable something, that keeps it alive and kicking even today, and i could probably play it on my death bead and still getting sucked in. I also liked Morrowind, the last really good TES, and more recent, The Wtcher 2, best damn ARPG in the last couple of ears.
Of course there are a ton in between i absolutely loved but i did not mention here (i could say FF VII from the JRPG’s) or that simply are not coming to me right know. However i can tell you without the smallest hint of doubt that in my favorite RPG’s list there are no damn hack and slashes with their click until you die policy, and then live as an undead, just so you can click again. I wonder how no one had the brilliant idea to make H&S’s for two mouses, so you can click while you click…
Whoa, sorry i ranted. So basically, early Bioware, Black Isle, Troika, Obsidian kinda games are what i consider great RPG’s. But i must once again bring up the Realms of Arkania trilogy, rather unknown but very good.

For Avernum Trilogy:
My favorite RPG series ever is definitely Fallout, mainly the first two games. I’ve played it first when I was like six since it was included as a full game with a magazine my mother used to buy for me. It was my first real RPG experience and needless to say, I was blown away. It was brutal, complex and full of dark humor – simply the perfect game to NOT be played by six year olds. And because of that I loved, even though half of the time I had no idea what I was doing. But it isn’t just nostalgia speaking – I still play first two Fallouts from time to time and they still hold up. I’m not exactly the biggest fan of Fallout 3 – it felt like Oblivion 2: A Postapocalyptic RPG to me. Bethesda can do certain things well, but their style just doesn’t seem to fit Fallout. Thankfully, New Vegas did everything what F3 did wrong right and recaptured the greatness of the originals.
Gothic series is another favorite of my, specifically the first two games (again). Great story and a wonderfully detailed world full of stuff to find and NPCs who behaved like real human beings. That and the game’s tough difficulty together created a world which for me was immersive like none game before. I’m not a big fan what happened to the series after Gothic 2 and its expansion pack – Gothic 3 was good, but very flawed, its expansion pack was awful in every way and Gothic 4 doesn’t even feel like a Gothic game anymore.
And some other honorable mentions: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (pretty much a dream come true for a SW fan like me), Mass Effect series (three great games with the best party members ever ruined completely in five minutes) and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines (breath of fresh air in the stale waters of fantasy and sci-fi RPGs).

My favourite RPGs are Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II, and Mass Effect.
The best part about Skies of Arcadia was the sense of discovery. Not just the new lands and enormous bosses – but the characters and the surprises they had in store for me. The image of Ramirez, striken with grief and ready to make the world share his pain, as I met him in the heart of the final dungeon will stay with me forever.
Grandia II was all about the battle system. For those who never played it, it was a turned-based RPG where you told your characters who to attack – and then they ran across the battlefield to try and do it. This opened up all kinds of strategies where you’d check who the enemy was targeting, have them run away, then run interference with another character until they ran out of puff. Or until someone else could cancel their attack.
Mass Effect? That was my introduction to RPGs where you don’t play a role – you create it. I know, I was late to the party. The whole trilogy has created some amazing moments for me, across several memorable characters, but the one which brought out the biggest grin was in the final moment of ME1, after the battles were over, when Sovereign crashed into the tower and the dust settled.
The music rose – so slowly! – building and building. Anderson searched frantically; we watched through his eyes, camera shaking.
Then a shadow. The sound of footsteps; the briefest of moments, thinking “it must be.” It IS!
Relief. Elation. And my grizzled, scarred old veteran of a hero cracks an awesomely infectuous smile.
These moments make my favourite games.

As far as as favorite RPG:s go I played massive amounts of FF games, Grandia, Suidoken and Shadow Hearts to name a few of my favorite series on PS1/2. Recently(as in the last 2-3 years) I have been getting heavily into PC RPGs like Septerra Core, Witcher 1, ME series and Gothic 3 from what springs to mind. I really need to get more into the western classics, and Avernum or 3 would certainly kickstart me into that style of game.

Not a fan of JRPGs so for me the best RPG’s Ive played are Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, Diablo II LoD (for the hacking&slashing), Sega Genesis’s Shadowrun and Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (the original gameboy zelda, without colors).
Fallout 1 and 2 are the best of the best to me, the freedom you have to develop the story and doing whatever you want is what matters the most in a RPG game to me.
Diablo 2 is the best hack & slash game I’ve ever played, and it’s something worth mentioning, since I keep going back to it and hack & slash games tend to be boring.
And for nostalgia and also great games go to Zelda’s gameboy title and Sega’s shadowrun. Those made me learn english when I was a kid practically.

I absolutely role-playing games. My favourite RPGs are ones that have an interesting story, atmospheric world and overall unique feel to them.
One of my all time favourite RPGs out of a bit newer games is The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. I hadn’t played any of the previous parts of that game series but when I played Oblivion I absolutely fell in love with the entire world! Not only was the gameplay great but the feeling of progression was amazing. Major questlines truly made you feel like you were becoming a more awesome character even though regular NPCs didn’t really acknowledge your awesomeness all the time! I also loved that game’s free world and I can still remember the countless hours of me playing a character that got bitten by a vampire. The game’s overall feeling was great and it was truly immersive. Great game.
Other great RPGs I love are for example the original Fallout 1&2 and Avadon: The Black Fortress. There are of course many many other RPGs I love but these are the ones I have absolutely fallen in love with. They each have a unique feel into them and offer a great story and an amazing entertainment trip that every game can’t achieve!
This is why I would absolutely love to try the Avernum Trilogy!

Tales of Phantasia is so fun and amazing. Compared to Final Fantasy (when it was Squaresoft not Square Enix) I loved the Tales series always.
Final Fantasy is a fun game, but after the developer left Squaresoft and started his own company, they kind of went downhill… NAMCO Bandai and Nis are my two favorite RPG companies, well I hope I win but who knows? I’m usually pretty dam unlucky with these raffle type stuff xD.

My favorite RPGs are Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 and Icewind dale Series. Both of these games uses the same game engine(Infinity Engine). Combat of these 2 games are so fantastic, the pause adds a depth of strategy to kill a group of enemies. The story portion of the games(especially Baldur’s 1), is what sucks me in to play further. The story is so deep, i feel i was in the game itself LOL!. As my characters leveled up, i feel i also leveled up. “Warriors ONWARD!”

My favorite RPG of all-time is Skies of Arcadia: Legends for the Gamecube. Paper Mario is second, of course. I’ve always been a strong proponent of Final Fantasy IX and X. Earthbound gets a big mention. Diablo II and Torchlight, as well. Haven’t played D3, yet. Costume Quest is the most recent addition to the list. And if the court will allow it, I would also like to nominate Puzzle Quest.
That should probably do it. I could go on, but I will try to refrain.

The two Game RPGs that I would say stand out the most for me are Paper Mario – N64, and Hybrid Heaven – N64. They were not necessarily the best RPG games ever made, but Paper Mario added a new style to the game that was not really seen, and was a very good game at the same time. Hybrid Heaven was a game with strategy elements I had never ran into. You created your own combos from a list of multiple moves, chose if you wanted to block, run, dodge, or fight.

My all time favorite RPG is Fallout 3, but Dark Souls is doing very well and it may bypass Fallout soon! I’ve been playing RPG’s for since I can remember I got my first console/PC.. Started out with Dragon Quest for the PS2, got myself Final Fantasy later on.. I quit gaming a little and many years later started again with Fallout and just before that Oblivion too. Recently played Skyrim and Dark Souls and played a little Demon’s Souls.

Was one of the best games for PSP. I had so much fun in those days. I remember that I was stuck killing this purple flying monster, it got me really pissed off. Also, this guy I knew, knew how to beat it and didn’t tell me. (selfish asshole!) Anyway, I lost the game now, but crave to play it again!

As an RPG lover I’d say Dragon Age : Origins, Mass Effect series and most of Biioware pre-EA era games, Elder Scroll III – Morrowind, , Deus Ex and the original fallout games as well as the Bethesda ones.
As for JRPGs I’d say Xenogears, Final Fantasy Tactics, FF series (mostly FF 6), Chrono Trigger, Star Ocean the 2nd Story and many others.
Oh and yes, even the first Harvest Moon and the Rune factory ones.

My favorite RPG games are the Shadow Hearts Series for PS2, Shadow Hearts, Shadow Hearts II: Covenant, and Shadow Hearts: From The New World. They were great games. I also love Nier (very very underrated) and the .Hack GU games. The cutscenes in both of those games were amazing!

I like unconventional RPGs, so my favorite series is the SaGa series (+ the spiritual successor Last Remnant). I enjoy the experimental and often nonlinear gameplay, the minimalistic storytelling that still manages to create rich worlds for settings, and the bizarre cast of characters (including but not limited to post apocalyptic psychic mutants, robots, monsters, pirates, lizardmen, lobsters, elephants, snowmen, mermaids, psychotic doctors, bears, power rangers, dual wielding dragons, sentient rocks, plant men, Anubis style dog warriors, fairies, Zorro, beavers, and lesbian vampires).
I like how the main characters have their own backgrounds and goals for quests ranging from destroying anti planetary weapons to the noble altruistic Emperor fighting the corrupted evil legendary heroes to building a lesbian harem to murdering your brother for supreme magical power in the universe to a quest for revenge that lasts nearly a century, and those plots usually intertwine with each other and the villains plot against one another. Instead of being like “here’s a sandbox. You’re basically jesus with super special snowflake plot powers, here’s a sandbox, go walk around in it kicking puppies and indulging your OCD until you get bored or the heat death of the universe whichever comes first. If you want to know WHY you’re wandering around kicking puppies, there’s a book about the backstory under a rock in the stove of the house of a nondescript peasant who yells at you not to steal his stuff because you are in the same room breathing on it.”
I’ve finished all the games in the series at least once, except for Romancing SaGa 2 (because the Seven Heroes are probably the hardest SNES RPG final boss) and the DS games.Even recorded one of the first legit fights against the final boss of the SNES version of Romancing SaGa 1 and posted it on youtube (as many of the videos posted by Japanese players at the time used glitches or hacks). This despite there being no translation patches for Romancing SaGa 1 and 2, and I don’t know any form of Japanese characters.
Though while I’m passionate about the series and also enjoy other unconventional games and series like TWEWY or Dept. Heaven I also enjoy more traditional ones like FF and DQ, in addition to Atlus games (well, Nocturne and later anyway) and Demon’s/Dark Souls. As well as WRPGs like Divine Divinity, Mass Effect Alpha Protocol and interest in classic series like Ultima and Might and Magic.
I got PS3 … that’s all.
I have an iPad as well, so I’d love to get a copy of Super Crate Box, it looks fun! Also, here are some of my favorite RPGs for the Avernum Trilogy contest:
· Fallout 3: Immersive world I love to explore, great story and setting. The rest of the games in the series are also great, but this one is definetely my favorite.
· World of Warcraft: Epic dungeons, raids, great PvP, awesome quests, a massive explorable world, well implemented social features and a virtually unlimited experience. Some of my greatest memories in my gaming career were born in this game while playing with my brother.
· Pokémon series: They may seem somewhat childish to the eyes of some people, but the Pokémon games are awesome RPGs with a very solid system underneath their “cute” appearance. Being both simple and charming, they are perfect to introduce the younger players as they are to keep pretty much any RPG fan entertained.
· Avadon & Avernum: I got these two recently on Steam and I absolutely loved them, which is why I’m participating in this contest in the first place. Their way of detailing how the different environments feel like, how the story develops and how each situation looks like are magnificent and make me feel just as if I was playing a session of D&D with a narrator describing what’s going on. Besides, the turn-based combat in both of them feels good and the gameplay is surprisingly simple to understand. Spiderweb Software has earned my heart with these two, so I’m looking forward to playing more of their games.
Other titles worth mentioning are Dungeons of Dredmor, Borderlands and the first Deus Ex, the three of which I also love. By the way, I haven’t played the D&D classics (Baldur’s Gate, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights) since I wasn’t into RPGs at the time, but I’m working on it- as soon as I get my hands on them and can spare some time, I’ll definetely play those. My favourite RPG series has to be Suikoden. Most JRPGs have a party of 10 at max, but Suikoden leaves you spoilt for choice with their 108 Stars each time, allowing you customize your party of 6 to no end.

I have an iPhone 3gs and I Love it! I would also like to win Fortix 2, the game looks real fun, have been waiting for a good game like this, it reminds me of my childhood. Those sort of drawing lines games were always funy

Why its Neverwinter Nights!
To me that’s the first game that truly introduced the D&D p&p experience to a computer game. With its multiplayer mod and DM clients, it made possible for group of friends to experience an adventure together
Do I like RPGs? My first computer RPGesque experience was a TRS-80 game named Raaka-Tu. From there on, I was hooked to Adventure/RPGs. Command line has never been this exciting
English is not my first language… and, at age 11 at the time (1981), this game helped me learn tremendously.

Just off the top of my head, I’d say my favourite RPG is Fallout 3. I hadn’t kept track of it at all during its development and then properly had a look at it a week or so before its release and loved what they’d done. Never have I been so engrossed in a game’s world.
Of course, Diablo 2 has to be one of my favourites as well, just for all the good times had, playing online.

My mother in law just lent me her nice big car to try it to decide if I wanted to buy it.
50 kms later, the car stops. In the middle of nowhere, in the country side. Impossible to have the engine start again.
After two hours waiting under the rain, I am finally able to get back home.
And today, I just learnt that the engine is wreck, that it would cost something like 7500€ to repair it. So let’s say I’m a bit broke, and that I would be please to blast stuff on my pc right now. ARES could come in handy.
… and by the way, i’m not against the idea of getting Indiegala4 either!

For the Avernum Trilogy, my fave RPG has to be Planescape Torment, any game that lets you convince the boss to quit without drawing weapons has my vote. Spiderweb Games seem to be keeping good writing alive… I want that!

My favourite RPGs? Well, in the ‘freeform’ style, I definitely like Skyrim, and Nehrim. Nehrim is the complete overhaul mod for Oblivion. I recognize a lot of that one in Skyrim. Looks like Bethesda took out the good bits and used it to improve their Elder Scrolls series further.

I like RPGs
The setting has to be just right though. Fallout for example was awesome. The post apocalyptic scene brings out the need to survive. You can get lost in the world and in your character quickly. Roleplaying is not enough, the setting matters a lot!

I want Fortix 2 because I really enjoy playing tower defense games with a twist such as Sanctum and Dungeon Defenders. Fortix 2 seems like a great game to try my hand at!
I love a variety of RPGs. I enjoy classic JRPGs such as Chrono Trigger and the Final Fantasy series, action oriented RPGs such as Oblivion and Skyrim, RPGs with shooting elements such as Fallout 3 and Mass Effect, and RPGs that are a mixture of genres such as Dungeon Defenders and The Last Remnant.

Elder Scrolls: Morrowind is probably my favorite because it is so actively modded.
However, Fallout 3 and Skyrim get an honorable mention because my DM growing up worked on them.

What are my favourite RPGs?
One is Ultima Online. Simply because when I was demo-ing it in front of a bunch of friends to show them how awesome it was. I made a new mage, walked out of town, got KILLED BY A RAT, then 10 people proceeded to defile my body and steal all my clothing and weapons.

Favorite RPGs? There are many over the years.
Wizardy 1 – It was the first computer RPG I ever played.
Ultima 3 – My first RPG on the C-64. I went on to finish Ultima 4 through 9 over the years.
Wasteland – It’s been so long since I played it, that all I can remember about it is that I loved it.
Dungeon Master – On the Amiga 500, need I say more about it?
Eye of the Beholder and Black Crypt – Both on the Amiga 500 also, and great follow ups to DM.
Baldur’s Gate – Go for the eyes Boo!
Icewind Dale – I think I enjoyed it a little more than Baldur’s Gate.
Wizardy 8 – A surprisingly good swan song for Sir-Tech
Knight of the Old Republic 2 – I played this over and over, and turned the light to the dark side.
Legend of Grimrock – Successfully brought back the feel of Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Black Crypt while still feeling new.
I do enjoy the Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and Witcher series, but those feel like safe answers.
My favorite RPG games? Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, EarthBound, Pokemon Red/Blue/Gold/Silver and Golden Sun. Obviously I grew up with Nintendo :p

Hello I wanted to enter on the Avernum Trilogy pack. I love old school RPG’s, my favourites are Baldur’s Gate I and II, Dungeon Siege I and II (Loved the co op mode), and I really enjoyed Titan Quest. Right now I’m looking forward until Grim Dawn comes out.
So I consider myself unlucky. Best thing I’ve won in my life is a small decorative snowman which then decided to break on the trip home. Or the snowmanish mug I won once which I also accidentally knocked over and shattered into a 1000 pieces the next day.
I also have a PS3 and iPhone.
ALSO I’D LIKE FORTIX 2 BECAUSE I LIKE SHOUTING AND LOOK AT THAT GUY. HE HAS A LEAF OR SOMETHING ON HIS SWORD. HE COULD KILL ME. I WANT TO BE HIM THEN KILL OTHER PEOPLE.
Favorite RPGs? It’d probably have to go to a lot of the FF series. Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana as well.
My favorite RPG is Planescape Torment. It played in a much stranger and more interesting world than the most other RPG´s, with locations like a brothel for intellectual lusts, several stages of hell and a city that is constantly torn apart and rebuild. The world was populated by a lot of very interesting characters, like a mage who was constantly burning, a golem who can build weapons that were able to kill anyone or a fallen angel. Another point is that Planescape Torment focused much less on combat (eg compared with the Baldur´s Gate-Sage) and more on the dialogs and the story. It almost felt like reading a good book, but with the great benefit of being able to make own decisions in its story. And the ending of the game was also great, I liked that you didn´t have to fight the end boss, but could also end it per dialog or even with a ritualistic suicide.
Some other RPG´s that I loved are the Baldur´s Gate-Saga, Fallout 1&2, Arcanum, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, the two “The Witcher”-games, Gothic 1+2 and Vampire: Bloodlines.
