Free Game: Figment is free on IndieGala

ABOUT THE GAME:

A musical action-adventure set in the recesses of the human mind… Welcome to the world of Figment. A strange and surreal world; a place filled with our deepest thoughts, urges and memories, populated by the many voices we hear in our heads.

This mind has been quiet and calm for many years. But something has changed. New thoughts have started to emerge – taking the shape of nightmarish creatures who spread fear wherever they go. The only hope is for the grumpy Dusty, the mind’s former voice of courage, to get back to his old self and help the mind to face its fears.

Join Dusty and his ever-optimistic friend, Piper, on an adventure through the different sides of the mind, solving puzzles to set things straight, beating back the nightmares and seeking to restore the courage that’s been lost.

Figment (Steam version) has Positive user reviews and it usually costs $19.99

    • According to Disqus I’m only an hour late to the party but this is AU$14.99 on the Oculus PC store and doesn’t even show up on the Quest store.

Edit: Unlimited Bowling, that is… never mind, it’s an AppLab game, that’s why it doesn’t show up on the storefront. I’ve never been certain what the deal is there, I think you need to set it to developer mode and install something (SideQuest) to allow untrusted apps?

      • I gotta be honest, I never tried to download the game. I just saw it posted on OzBargain and figured people here might enjoy it too. As for the AppLab thing, I’m not sure. I haven’t used my headset in quite a while. No room 🙁

        • A heads up on free stuff is always appreciated. I will get round to checking out SideQuest at some point, when (if?) my backlog is under control.

          • If your back catalogue is anything like mine, then scientists had better figure out a way of making me live longer and get younger really soon, cos, otherwise, I’m in trouble 🙂

        • No physical room to play, or no storage room on the device? Quest 2 now lets you hook up wirelessly to your PC via your router. Not sure if Quest 1 does, too. All my VR games are on Steam, I have very little on the device itself, Oculus games are too expensive.

          • Physical space. Storage media isn’t an issue. Some games need a whole room to play in, and with the built in desk & storage in my office, there’s just not enough space to play, and some space is constrained, so the sensors cannot see below the desk, and items on the ground can’t be reached / noticed. Add in a lack of decent time to set things back up again, and well… it has been put on the back burner for the time being.
Sadly, Real Life (TM) has gotten in the way of Fun Life, and I find as I get older, I have less and less time to just play, so spare time is often utilised on short YouTube videos, rather than gaming.
