  1. Without the freebies I wouldn’t have the Epic Games launcher on my laptop since I play fortnite on my Nintendo switch.

  2. You both are so negative. On the other hand I’m just great full EGS is giving away free games. They don’t have to do this.

    • It’s nice that you felt the need to post this same comment about these games two weeks in a row. Obviously it would be impractical for them to give out a AAA title every week, but the quality of games they have been giving away has been more impressive than any other service not requiring a subscription. In any case, two of the three games have higher Steam user review scores than nearly all of the higher-budget games that Epic has given away, so I would hardly consider them “trashy”. In fact, a lot of the time big-budget games have a tendency of feeling excessively derivative, while small developers are often more willing to take chances and try unique things or focus on genres that otherwise wouldn’t get much attention.

      • it’s not about the genres they’re picking from , it’s about the quality of the game (and it’s okay if it’s not AAA title) .. but they seem having a lack of the games they can show .. so instead of making contracts with publishers and giving away some good games which already been in their store for a long time , they suddenly add some weired games that no one in the planet heard of .. and tadaaaa !!

        • If it’s about the quality of the games, then as previously pointed out, these games seem to be of reasonable quality judging by the “very positive” Steam user reviews for at least two of them, and they are not unheard of, considering they all have well over a thousand reviews each. Maybe you haven’t heard of them, but that’s probably more down to the market being flooded with 100+ games launching on Steam every week for the last few years, resulting in a lot of good games not getting widespread recognition. At the very least, none of these titles seem to be low-effort cash grabs.

As for giving away games already being sold on their platform, that seems like a bad idea from a business perspective. They want people to feel reasonably assured that their purchases on the Epic Game store are not going to end up as free giveaways a few weeks later, which is why they only tend to give away games that are new to the platform. So, don’t expect anything already being sold at their store to appear as one of these free giveaways, at least not anytime soon.
