This is super awesome! I was torn on whether I should buy the season pass because of reviews I read on the DLC but I put over a hundred hours into the base game doing everything. Now I can judge it for myself and see if it’s worth buying the rest!
Yep, I’ve noticed that, although I had some Serious Sam DLC without the base game IIRC.
But it’s kinda annoying to have that “feature”, especially for promos like that and keys you already own.
Maybe an additional warning popup would be enough.
It’s always been like that. Steam won’t even let you register a DLC code you have unless you already own the base game (even if that is F2P). The developer and publisher can add those DLCs to your account, though, so it’s not like it isn’t technically possible – they just won’t let you.
Apparently on Steam, you DO need to own the base game in order to add the DLC to your account. Other stores seem to be fine without it..
