No they do charge the card to make sure its valid and real . The charge is like $1.70 or so.

Worked for me to claim Battlefield V
Amazon reserves a month’s payment on your card. That way if you decide no to cancel, they know you have at least one months payment ready to go. A fake/expired credit card will only cause an error to be thrown.
Battlefield V seems oddly hidden by Amazon. I didn’t find it in the app and I only found it on the website after entering the name in the search. I would have totally missed it if it wasn’t for IGB
