Epic has announced that they will keep the weekly free game giveaway throughout 2021 – follow us on TwitterFacebook or Steam to get a reminder when each new free game giveaway launches!

ABOUT THE GAME:

Inspired by BioShock and System Shock 2, Void Bastards is a revolutionary new strategy-shooter that will test your wits as well as exercise your aim. Can you lead the misfit prisoners of the Void Ark through the derelict spaceships and myriad dangers of the Sargasso Nebula?

Forget everything you know about first-person shooters: Void Bastards asks you to take charge, not just point your gun and fire. Your task is to lead the rag-tag Void Bastards out of the Sargasso Nebula. You make the decisions: where to go, what to do and who to fight. And then you must carry out that strategy in the face of strange and terrible enemies.

HOW TO GET THIS GAME FOR FREE:

Just head over to Epic Games Store or navigate to the game in their launcher before August 26th 2021, add the game to your cart and checkout. Simple as that. After that, the game is yours to keep, and play, forever.

Make sure to check in next Thursday for the next Epic Games Store freebie.

  1. This game looks like a mixture of System Shock 2, XCOM, and Borderlands. Doesn’t look bad, but… I don’t think the story is that great, but that’s just my speculation.

    • It’s an sci fi fps version of UnderMine. As for the XCOM comparison, I don’t really get it.
It isn’t bad, played about an hour of it. Spent 20 minutes trying to see if I could keep the first guy alive, only to realize that it wasn’t the Gunpoint that was killing him, it was entering the airlock.
Made peace with that and moved on.
It’s very linear and repetitive. But I’ll keep grinding away at it and see if I can make some real progress.

        • Fair enough I suppose. And I have played XCOM, though if you’re not careful, it can be difficult to get a game going.
If you ever give XCOM a go, make sure you’re not just using the same team members through the entire game, take your time and level up multiple. Because if they die, they’re gone for good.
Same advice applies to Darkest Dungeon.

  2. Void Bastards is not a bad game, but it takes some effort to really get started. If you’re having troubles, just try and be patient.
