HUMBLE CHOICE PERKS
It’s Your Choice
Humble Monthly is now Humble Choice. More games every month. You choose the ones you want to keep forever.
No More Mystery
All games revealed upfront on the first Friday of every month. No more waiting to find out what you’re getting each month.
Great Perks
5% donated to charity every month. Plus access to 90+ games in the Humble Trove and up to 20% off on the Humble Store.
Definitely pushing me more and more to not renewing my subscription. I too am very disappointed in the quality of games which seems to be dropping further and further every month. Humble is quickly losing the “Premium” tag I usually associate with their service. When the very first Choice leaked, Void Bastards was in the list then when it dropped, it wasn’t. Strange considering this is a Humble Published game. Months later it finally shows up. I think what Humble should do is offer all subscribers any of the Humble Published games at launch. I’m still waiting for Forager to show up.
If you PAUSE, you’ll be Pausing this Month or the Next??? (i haven’t unlocked my choices for this month)
i was satisfied with the past 2 years of monthly bundles. it’s about time they had one with games i didn’t like. i got this month’s anyway because 13usd is like the price of eating out at lunch time. i’d rather have some mediocre games that look sorta fun and then eat water for lunch, than be satisfied with an yummy meal that lasts 30 min of tasting with no extra games to play. but that’s just me
Strategies and crafting games, I don’t like either of those so I’ll skip this month personally. I did love last month, Supraland was a phenomenal game
To help people out:
Age of Wonders: Planetfall Deluxe Edition – Turn based RTS requires 3rd party account
Void Bastards – FPS
Railway Empire – Strategy / Sim
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock Season One – Turn based strategy
Yuppie Psycho – Indie adventure horror (like all the others)
Beat Hazard 2 – Music bullet hell
Sigma Theory: Global Cold War – Turn based strategy
Metal Unit – Early Access Indie RPG
Don’t Escape: 4 Days to Survive – Point n Click indie adventure
Verlet Swing – Indie 3D platformer
Basingstoke – Isometric Indie rogue like
Earthlock – Indie JRPG strategy
If you read the word strategy on almost every line, you’d be correct. Strategy games are a dime a dozen, and ever since moving to “Choice” we’ve been inundated with them. I’m going to have to pass again this month. I do wonder how long Choice will last, given how poor the selection of games are. There must be a lot of people just pausing month after month after month. Either that, or I’m in the minority with my dislike of strategy games.
Void Bastards looks good, but the rest just seem like turds.
This is likely why they’ve been offering 40% off subscriptions for the last couple of months, can’t imagine many people have been renewing let alone picking up new subscribers with these kinds of offerings.
I’ll just set a reminder to pause in 2 weeks. That way I can access Trove, get the games they offer there, and not waste another month on stuff I’m never likely to play. Instead of offering 12 games each month, cut it back to 10 (and they never said they’d offer 12 games every month, but that we’d get a choice of 9/10 if they offer more than 10) and choose better games. I’m sure it takes a lot of effort to get developers on board with this. I’d rather see less content that is better than see it turning into another Indie Gala with “Bundles of Junk” week after week.
Beat Hazard 1 wasn’t too bad for what it was and the sequel looks almost identical, Verlet Swing might be fun, Basingstoke could be OK, Void Bastards seems alright. But they look like games I’d expect to see in a cheaper Fanatical bundle. The big ticket items all seem to be strategy and sim games once again.
Void Bastards is great, but it is pretty awful otherwise
Okay, im canceling my sub…..
