What’s the catch? Well, new players will still have to pay up $13 if they want to play ranked. A one-off payment of $13 gets you “Battlegrounds plus”, which means you get access to ranked and custom matches, extra perks, items, XP boost, etc.

Note: you can download the game now but to play it you’ll have to wait until the servers are back online at 11pm PST on Jan 11, or 3am EST / 8am GMT on Jan 12.

  1. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years already. Feels like it was only yesterday when everyone and their mother were playing PUBG.

  2. You still have to pay $13 to make the game to play ranked, which is the real game. So this is more or less an indefinite demo. Also what are the people who payed for this getting? Because I already know they’re going to be steamed.

  3. BTW it’s not just ranked matches that are in the as you called it ” premium “. It’s also custom matches.
And while CSGO can get away with charging for locked content. They have a very large dedicated community. CSGO didn’t populate the ranked matches with bots.
And every time someone replies with an opinion, without fail, someone like you replies and adds nothing to the on going conversation. And while a small percentage of people don’t want to play ranked , that’s fine. But bad news, the rest of us do want to play ranked.

  4. Correct, because even with Pro and depending on where you live in relation to a server, it still doesn’t work properly.
