  1. I’ve read some of these comics before and they’re actually quite good. Sure, it’s a gender spin on Van Helsing (by making it the daughter), which seems to be all the rage lately. Taken on its own, the comics are very well drawn and have a decent story line.

$24 doesn’t seem too bad if these are your thing. Yes, they are available online for “free”, but if you’d prefer to pay people for their work, you could do worse.

ps. the new site design messes with my head. 🙂

    • The design of the protagonist, though… I must be getting old because a decade or so ago I would have been right into a hero fighting zombies in a bodice and fishnets, but these days I find myself thinking “that’s highly impractical gear to be fighting vampires in”.

I did watch the TV series for a season, though, it may not have been top tier viewing, but it was alright.

      • This is the same character as the one in the TV Show? Haven’t watched it but I enjoy stupid shows like Supernatural and Buffy

      • In the one comic that I read, she wore “normal” clothes throughout, although the cover page was similar to the one’s pictured above. It seems that the covers are designed to appeal to the base male sexual desires, where as the reality within the pages is quite different.

And yes, you’re right, the Van Helsing series is loosely based on the graphic novels (according to Wikipedia).

        • She seems to at least wearing a jacket in the few pages I Googled. I thought I may have read some at first but I was getting it mixed up with Wynnona Earp, which had a similar(ish) TV series as well.
