This is a turn-based tactical roguelite with deck-building elements and a gorgeous Japanese-inspired pixel art style. Every move matters, so you need to position your character carefully, prepare attacks in advance, and unleash them in the right order.
Instead of collecting a traditional deck of cards, you build a set of attack tiles. You can upgrade them, combine their effects, and create increasingly nasty combos as you work your way toward the Shogun.
Death is part of the progression rather than the end of your run. New characters, attacks, skills, and other options gradually unlock, giving you more ways to approach each attempt. In other words, the game repeatedly kills you and calls it personal growth.
