Just tried out Dust & Courage: Jake Bolton’s Journey and had way more fun than I expected!

The world has this quirky, silly charm that really pulls you in, even if the worlds is mostly empty in this early version. The low poly art style I kinda dig – it’s simple, colorful, and nice to look at.
Let’s talk about that AI voice acting… It’s technically bad, but honestly? I kind of loved it. It gave the game this goofy, “so bad it’s good” vibe that made me laugh more than once.
Combat definitely needs some refinement, though. I’d love to see deeper mechanics, more impactful skills, and some character customization to spice things up. Right now, it feels a bit barebones but the game IS early early access so I didn’t expect too much just yet.

But my favorite part? Henrietta the chicken companion a random Indian gives you.
She’s a tiny feathery MVP, following me around like a loyal sidekick. More chicken content, please. And maybe chicken customization options? And chicken skill trees?
If you like offbeat indies with heart and humor (and chickens), it’s worth keeping an eye on this one as it develops.
Dust & Courage: Jake Bolton’s Journey is currently in Early Access on Steam.
