ABOUT THE GAME:
Rogue Waters is a tactical turn-based roguelite set in a cursed pirate world, where you take command as Captain Cutter, build up a crew of rogues, upgrade your ship, and fight your way through procedurally generated encounters. The game mixes naval battles, boarding fights, crew management, permanent upgrades, and a revenge-driven pirate story.
The game is developed by Ice Code Games and published by Tripwire Presents. It was originally released on September 30, 2024, and normally costs around $29.99 / €29.99, but it is currently 100% off on the Epic Games Store. The Epic page shows that the free offer ends on June 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
If you enjoy games like Darkest Dungeon, Slay the Spire, or tactical roguelites with a bit of XCOM-style positioning, this one is definitely worth adding to your library. The combat is not just about hitting enemies until they fall over either — you can push enemies into hazards, use ropes and obstacles, target enemy ship modules with cannons, and even summon mythical sea creatures like the Kraken, Mermaid, and Giant Snail to help turn the tide.
