The Ouroboros King is a chess-based roguelike strategy game where you build an army, collect powerful relics, use strange gadgets, and try to defeat the Coven. Think chess, but with roguelike runs, wild piece combinations, fantasy units, and enough tactical weirdness to make every attempt feel different. The Epic page describes it as a mix of chess strategy and roguelike replayability, with runs lasting around 15–45 minutes.
The game normally costs $9.99, but it is currently 100% off on the Epic Games Store. The free offer ends on June 18, 2026 at 8:00 AM, according to the Epic listing. Once you claim it, it is yours to keep.
There is a nice amount of depth here for strategy fans. You only move one piece per turn, so each decision matters, but you do not need to know chess openings or study theory to enjoy it. The game includes classic and fairy chess pieces, relics that modify your army, consumable items, same-device multiplayer, and extra end-game difficulty options.
