Pony Island is now permanently free on Steam.
Created by Daniel Mullins, who later made Inscryption and The Hex, Pony Island is a puzzle game disguised as a cheerful arcade machine. Unfortunately, the machine appears to have been programmed by the devil, who is not thrilled when you start digging around inside his code.
What begins as a deliberately terrible pony-jumping game quickly turns into something much stranger. You solve puzzles, manipulate menus, break into corrupted systems, and gradually uncover what is really happening behind the arcade cabinet.
It is short, clever, weird, and constantly plays with your expectations. If you enjoyed the meta tricks and unsettling surprises of Inscryption, this is where Mullins started exploring many of those ideas.
