Resist and Refuse is a tribute to the Game and Watch era, but following a new approach. With colorful graphics and contemporary themes, the aim of this game is to entertain while criticizing widespread problems faced in urban Brazil. This instance deals with violent police repression to nation-wide protests that have struck the country in mid-2013, which happened on a much smaller scale during 2014’s World Cup. The rate of police brutality didn’t change a lot, though.
If everything goes well, this is but the first of a series of games that will deal with issues faced in the everyday-life of ordinary and city-dwelling Brazilians, like lacking quality mass transport, poor education services, poor health access, urban violence and so on.
