Hex Reverse is free on Steam right now, but this is not a permanent free-to-play release. Developer IsaoWorks plans to make it a paid game after its first 30 days.

The game launched on October 7, 2026, so the free period should end on November 7, 2026. If you add it to your Steam library before then, you keep permanent access even after the price changes.
Hex Reverse is a roguelike deckbuilder built around battles on a 19-space hexagonal board. Each card has six different values, one for every side of the hexagon. Place a card next to an enemy card and the touching values get compared. If yours is higher, you flip that card to your side and take control of the space.
Winning battles also changes your deck. After each victory, you can take a card from your opponent and add it to your current run, which means your strategy develops as you progress rather than being completely decided before you start.
There are also skills, elemental effects, special battle conditions, card fusion, equipment upgrades, and permanent progression between runs. It sounds simple at first, but once several cards start fighting over the same patches of board, that nice little hex grid becomes considerably less friendly.
