Epic is giving away I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, which is great news for anyone who ever looked at their free games library and thought, “This needs more psychological torment from a godlike supercomputer.”
This is a legendary point-and-click horror adventure based on Harlan Ellison’s classic sci-fi story. The setup is not exactly cozy: a supercomputer named AM has wiped out humanity and kept five people alive for more than a century just to torture them. You play through their personal nightmares, make moral choices, solve puzzles, and generally have the kind of evening that makes a cozy farming sim look like medical treatment.
The game originally came out in the 90s and still has a serious cult reputation because of its writing, disturbing atmosphere, and willingness to go places most games would rather avoid. It is old-school, weird, uncomfortable, and absolutely not here to make you feel good about humanity.
Epic has it listed as a free game from July 2 to July 9, 2026, alongside River City Girls 2. Once you claim it during the giveaway period, it stays in your Epic Games library.
