This sci-fi strategy game puts you in command of a small ship and lets you build your way up from there. You can take on missions, fight hostile fleets, salvage resources, upgrade your ships, and gradually grow into a force that the rest of the galaxy has to take seriously.
Combat plays out in real time from a top-down perspective, with a focus on positioning, fleet composition, and choosing the right ships for each fight. Outside of battle, you can work with different factions, improve your reputation, expand your fleet, and decide whether you want to play things carefully or become the reason everyone else starts reinforcing their borders.
It has a nice mix of tactical combat and light progression, without burying you under endless menus. You can spend time tweaking your fleet, collecting better equipment, and chasing more lucrative missions, or simply pick a fight with something much bigger than you and learn why retreat buttons exist.
